Looks like a really interesting take on a slipjoint knife, and I love the pictures you presented in the post!
May you use it in good health.

I played with one a few months ago at a B&M and was impressed! I’m not much of a ZT guy and I don’t love the idea of detent balls being the hold open mechanism. I will snag another modern slippy sooner or later and it’s high in the running for sure.
I wasn't sure about how well that would work, but I ended up liking it.
Has enough spring tension to make them engage quite well.

I had the Spyderco Terzuola SLIPIT, and it was disappointing. The detent wasn't very strong, and relied on your use of the finger choil to prevent the blade from moving too much. I mean, it was adequate for its intended use, and safe if used properly, but it was less positive than even the weakest backspring slipjoint and without the safety of having spring bias. Plus the reverseable pocket clip left a garish hole on whatever side you didn't have the clip on (an included insert would have been so much nicer). Still, it was better than the Turnbull T-Mag, which used a rare earth magnet to hold the blade open.
I would hope that these newer ball detent style slipjoints are better than the Terzuola was. They seem to be stronger, watching videos, but I'd still want to handle one before buying.

I like my Terzuola slipit. Has plenty of bias towards open in the open position, as much as most slipjoints and more than many. Maybe yours need adjustment.
