Why did Zero Tolerance cancel the 0301? Did they make an announcement or ANYTHING?

That knife was cancelled awhile back. ZT cancels knives from time to time in order to put their resources towards the production of new knives. Plus, and this is my opinion only, they've shifted away from the mission statement they had back when a lot of their designs were Ken Onion recurve-bombs.

If I knew they cancelled it I would of bought one awhile back >.> Now pretty much every place is sold out.

The last batch of discontinued ZTs (not carried from the 2015 to the 2016 catalog) were: 0560BW, 0301, 0350SWCF and 0010TI.

Check the ZT 2016 CATALOG for the latest catalog / regular production models.

There are some Canadian sites that have them... Google "zero Tolerance 0301 Canada" and one of the results on the first page leads you to a reputable dealer that has them in stock. I hope I was vague enough to not run afoul of forum rules.

Where does one find the list of associated dealers anyway?

I will be honest, the only knives I like from ZT are the 0560 and the 300 series so this sucks.

Discontinuing the 300 series was as asinine move on KAI's part. That's right up there with BM discontinuing the Stryker, 710, or 530, or Spydie discoing the Endura/Delica/Police.

Yeah, thats why I was so surprised I never saw this coming. When I think of ZT, I think of the 301.

I'm pretty sure KAI knows its business and market better than you (or I) do.

Yup. I was a little shocked they did this last year, especially with the 0560 but if you think about it a bit it makes sense. They can only produce so many knives and these had been going for a long time. The Stryker was discontinued and the delica/endura/police are made in a separate facility than many other spydercos.

Truth. While it may seem "asinine" to a few individuals, it's a decision that they don't take lightly. As said if it doesn't sell the numbers then it's discontinued. Look at where they have gone in only 10 years, you dont get there by making decisions based on your own personal preferences.

Does it suck, sure it does for us who like some of the less popular models but life goes on and new models come to take their place. I'm positive on all accounts that ZT will be just fine. I'll be here in my corner of the internet watching how they change and prosper over the next 10 years.

Cheers,

Justin

The original Stryker was. Such a nice knife tho. There's the axis Stryker still right? Tho I was reading a debate about it not being a Stryker because no thumb disk

Its not still really, I think it is only a couple years old and it shares its body with the 915 Triage. I've owned both old and new and they are different knives.
