ZT 0450 - Low & High Serial Numbers

I'm kinda curious how high the 0452CF's and 0562CF's have gone. Anybody wanna sound off on those?

We just got in a restock and they are all 21100 and up!
I was hoping you'd chime in whitty! They're really pumping these out!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I remember reading that the 0450 was debuted at Blade Show 2015. If so KAI is producing just over 7K per year (avg).

The 0450 I recently sold was serial number 0597:

Not sure why we are hiding the actual numbers but I'll play along. Mines ultra rare. The only one with it's number. :)

have a hard time remembering the serial number unless it’s really low, or a knife I have multiple of… I have 0452s with numbers in the 100s - 400s, but those are sprints. My regular 0452s range from 10,600 to about 20,000.

It’s cool to see the changes. For example on the 0452, somewhere in between 10,000 and 20,000, they added milling lines all around the titanium side (like on the 0452ti).

Not sure if the 0450s changed, my number on my 0450G10 is 0720,
0450CF is 4388 and my 0450 is 8011
I have a 0562ORBLK # 133 and a 0562BLK # 189.
Not sure if i have any under 100…hmm interesting topic.
Edit: just sold an early 0609, serial # 00404

Idk how to tag somebody, but MQQN on here is a huge ZT collector and many of his knives I see posted have ridiculously low numbers…like all 00,0xx

I have a 0452cf, purchased like a year ago, serial number is like 22,000. I believe they are both closing in on 30,000. At least the 0562. 0452 if I had to guess is around 25k.
Only reason I know is from buying way too many 0452s and for some reason I like to check numbers on knives For sale or whatever, to see what number a certain model is up to.
Also IIRC I had a blu blk 0609 with a really low number might have actually been under 100 but I sold it.
I know I’m weird btw

I'm a collector and the #'s on knives make absolutely no difference to me.

I will not pay more for low numbers or less for high numbers. In fact, I prefer knives w/no numbers on them at all because it creates a false impression of scarcity. The 0450 is not scarce, regardless of the # on it.

A #1 on the knife wouldn't matter to me either because there's nothing unique about the knife beyond that. If I wanted an 0450 (and I've owned/sold a few), I'd rather buy another one for the going market price rather than the inflated value that the seller think it's worth because it's #1.

The # on a knife should matter even less to some one who "uses" and who does not "collect" knives.

BTW, I use to collect "limited edition" litographs and my opinion about the #'s on those is the same as my opinion about the #'s on knives.

Agreed. Only relevance would be if manufacturing changed at some point, heat treat issues, etc.

I don't have the original 0450, but my wife has serial 02332.
I only have the cf, black, zdp and the two Sinkevich specials.

The 0450 is such a great smaller knife. Dima really does some great design work in my opinion.

Best

I’ve bought and sold several over the years and no longer know what the s/n’s were, but my latest is 35,525.
