Fixed blades

I guess it is fair to say that I am a big fan of the Carothers DEK series of knives.

navman navman was kind enough to make me a little larger EDC in 4V and Walnut. Came out gorgeous. Dek1 for scale.

Most excellent job sir! One day, one day…😁

Have I mentioned how much I love my imacasa corn machete lately?

I didn't want to cut this barberry with a power saw, so we wrapped it with a rope, dug it with the machete, and threw it into the back of the truck whole rather than fight the spiny sucker through the chipper.
I've removed enough of that fun plant on the property. Nice to have something with a little reach.

Awesome looking sheaths too with those knives. Made from Kydex I assume? Often more sturdy than those leather jobs so common when I was a kid.

It sure is, I despise the stuff. Not only is it invasive, but it's a haven for deer ticks. I had my dad and brother keep the rope taut, so I could crawl up under it to dig and chop the roots. If we'd had the stump grinder with us I'd have just barreled into it with the head.

Your barberry is my buckthorn. Finally starting to make some headway after a few years of removal or cut stump/triclopyr.

Sorry for the jibber jabber, thread, here's a knife!

I love that Carothers FK with TeroTuf. I remember when you scored that one on the Exchange. That was a great score with a rare handle combo. 👍

I actually had the knife before that but it had natural canvas scales. The gentleman wanted to trade what he thought was black canvas (though they looked like TT which is why I was interested.) I don't remember now but either I pointed it out in pm or casino mentioned what they appeared to be in the thread. Either way guy was cool with it so we swapped. I honestly still miss those other scales, they had a lovely hue to them thanks to use and a grog sheath. 😁
