I used the search function and google trying to find a legacy thread for people to hone their pic/gif/vid posting fu.

The ones I found were locked.

So here goes…

And the 'Image Link' option from Imgur appears to work best in multiple browsers, though Safari does like the 'BBCode' too.

Top pic was blue toothed from my Samsung Galaxy S8 to my MacBook Air and reduced to fit in 1280x1280 with Preview then pasted into the text box.

Second pic is the same one from the Gallery on my phone and how I've been posting here for a long time--uploaded to Imgur, edited there for size (1200 W), then copying the BB code and pasting it into the text box. You can easily see the difference in detail and color. There's a lot of loss when using the Imgur app.

Just seeing now what shows up when quoting and replying.

Edit: First pic doesn't show--text reads "View Attachment" with number as I thought it might, having seen that on others' posts. Hmm, wonder if there's a way to avoid that without using an image host....
 
Here's a different pic, blue toothed from phone to Mac, reduced there in size, uploaded here at Insert Image Icon...

Those were both copied from my Mac and pasted right into the text box. I don't see a difference.
