What would be an optimal blade geometry for my sr 101 DT12 saw back wonderful edge on it but while I was playing around hit Little Rock’s in the soil an cough cough and I glanced it off a bolt holding some stuff together held up well just a little honing an all set but if I end up sharpening that freehand I may alter the geometry into a convex over time an wonder if a convex edge would end up being an issue with chopping or if I should make sure I keep proper edge geometry for optimal blade performance in the woods?

There’s no real desirability of that knife unless there is a significant discount on secondary market. Resale prices have definitely calmed, but There are still a handful of highly desirable trims and models that will command a premium price. However the “well” seems to be drying up based on remaining supply of old school collectors who actually want to sell. Over last decade a handful of “the good stuff” has been sold to overseas individuals and less likely to come back around for resale.
