A sale or gift....I've always subscribed to the old wives tale about the receiver giving a coin back to the giver so as not to cut the relationship....... First heard of this when I watched " The Edge" with Anthony Hopkins & Alex Baldwin pre jerk off days!! '95 or '96 I think it came out... I liked it and have continued it since!!

These two models are probably the ones I’ve put the most thought and time into creating. It’s fun to see them together like this especially with opposing liner/handle material color. Both are going to F fastevo , he should be covered pretty good!

Both these handles just melt in the hand. First time trying thumb scallops on the puukko (by request) and it’s very comfortable. I really think this pattern does well with slimmer scales because of the tall handle height.

Puukko
.100” 14c28n @ 62 HRC w/cryo
Blade Length: 4”
Handle Length: 4.25”
Handle Material: Od green canvas/loveless
Thickness behind edge: .012”

Skinner Dan
.100” 14c28n @ 62 HRC w/cryo
Blade Length: 4”
Handle Length: 4.25”
Handle Material: Natural canvas/loveless
Thickness behind edge: .008”

That birds beak is a hell of a pattern, you should be proud.

I’ve been wanting to make a partial tang for awhile now. The weight savings/improved balance is really noticeable. I actually think they are a little more work, but I will probably do all my personal knives partial tang in the future (besides hidden tangs). I’m not really sure why you don’t see more of them in the knife community.

I don’t use my personal knives for really anything else besides cutting things, so I personally don’t need the robustness of a full tang. I really need to do an apples to apples weight comparison but I think the partial tang is on average .5 oz lighter compare to a full tang at least.

EDC Variation
.113” Magnacut @ 63.5 HRC w/cryo

It’s the ultrex I think, it really is better than the rest

Maybe a combination of both ;)

The grain does look more refined somehow and it certainly swayed me. I'm usually just not a fan of most micartas... and you were the first I've seen use ultrex. There was an apparent difference.

Really impressive work regardless.

Some damn fine work..... Your knives certainly are alluring..... One day soon, hopefully I'll be knocking!😉
Great job..... Oh how about a mortise tang??

Hey guys (and girls?)

Been going through some big life changes lately. Sorry for the radio silence. I’ve been swamped with contracts as of late. My day job I’m a “conservation specialist” in NWCO and have been tirelessly working on habitat projects this spring, summer, fall to benefit the landscape, and of course wildlife.

I have tendered my resignation, as I’m tired and in need of living a more “normal life.”My plan is to be done with it soon, and hit the ground running on knives (at least for a little while). I commend people that can do knives full time. Financially, it seems difficult. I am fortunate and am in a position where I’m able to at least for awhile. When that time comes my plan is to make more knives available for sale in the custom forum. Hang in there, it will be coming…..

I appreciate the support and people checking in to see what’s up

Congrats!!! Hope its a smooth finish to one career and a quick start with the other!!!!
Honestly I see no issues with you and knife making as a full time gig....
Your blades are instantly eye catching and appealing...... The quality is readily apparent in your pictures..

I'd suggest getting an Instagram page going if you don't have one....Many more sets of eyes over there and deep pockets too😜...Personally I hate it but you should do well.....

Between there and here, please stay here too, I'd miss seeing your work, you might swing this endeavor👍👍👍

Best of luck........Looking forward to your return!!!

James
