Any good knife sharpeners out there?

Thanks for the info. I spent some time with my lansky sharpener. I got my knife to slice through paper pretty well, not quite as good as the spyderco factory edge tho. I'll think it over tonight and see if I should send it to richard j.

Do you have the sapphire hone for your Lansky?

Do you strop?

Both of those steps will refine you edge beyond what the basic kit will do.

I have the GATCO Professional. Beyond the stones that came with my kit I have GATCO's extra fine and ultimate finishing hones. They refine the edge quite nicely. They are also great for maintenance. I often use just those two for touchups.

I could stop there but I also added a stropping step with white and red polishing compound. My stropping setup cost less than $10 altogether. Stropping is also a step that can be used stand alone for maintenance.

After the finishing and stropping I am quite pleased with my results.

Your Lansky should be able to get you where you want to be if you desire.
