Can the Wave+ and the ARC compete against each other indefinitely?

I like the bladeshape on the wave better too. I almost never use the knife on my multiool, because I carry a folder. For me, I like the magnetic closure and the upgraded lock for the tools, as well as the bit driver that the p2 and p4 lacked. It's very balisong like and fidget friendly, not that my broken in wave is difficult to open at all. I prefer the pocket clip on the arc too.

For those guys who solo carry the multiool with no folder, the slightly shorter blade length and shape might be an issue.
 
Are we talking about the overall blade length or just the length of the edge? Leatherman doesn't specify that, but I assume it's the total length of the blade, not just the edge.

When you look at the wave, the edge is obviously longer compared to the total length of the blade than the edge of the arc's knife is compared to its own total length. So with the arc you're talking about having a smaller blade with an even further reduction in the edge length relative to the blade's length.
