Not Whining, but would like a definative answer please

This has been my first involement in a new product release like this and have been reading all the posts and the heated debates. This is my take on it all. To me I would like to see better communication! There have been several times the knives were supposed to ship and did not. That's fine. But no one from Dpx lets us know, the forum members had to ask if they shipped. And RYP would let us know why there was a delay. We should not have to ask. If they did not ship, Dpx should be on point and let there customers know there is a delay and what the next expected ship date is. To me communication is key in my opinion and I feel and from what I have read there are others that feel Dpx is not doing a great job and could improve in that area.

Kiah, evidently you missed Cricket Dave's review of the ESEE underpants a few months back . . . :)
2 quarts of mind bleach did not clear mine . . .
Be safe.
Did I miss something? Are we getting the Dpx thong with le knives???

Draftpick... I just want to make something clear. We never promised a hard ship date. We simply said we were shooting for Xmas based on the manufacturer's estimate and conditions at the time.

Then ESEE decided to tip over the apple cart literally days before the product was supposed to start shipping and payment was due. So we had to do a number of things most companies aren't asked to do. This forum was used to sell the knives and its where I post information. I don't send emails out until there is something functional to report.

Since I do not promise delivery dates, I don't constantly update people on non shipment dates. The web people did put up a countdown timer and that was its own interesting development.

Additionally I chose to add an additional item to the LE and I am happy with that. Those knives are on their way to the US.

What I do is confirm that something HAS happened and answer what every questions I can about the product, status and shipment. We also have customer service who is happy to answer any questions or provide assistance. I also try to clear up any rumors or ill-intentioned gossip that sometimes pops up here. This is a long haul business with much more than field proven knives coming from DPx. Its a business built around customers not just knives.

I think they have given updates. Things happen, dates change. The people who are whining about unanswered questions need to realize RYP is very busy and does not sit on this forum all day. If these questions were asked in email I am sure you would get a quick response. I have gotten replies over the weekend, when I would not expect them until Monday morning. I am excited to be one of the first to get one of these. I can wait and not whine about it. It's not like they are sitting in a warehouse in dallas and he refuses to ship them just to piss people off. There were delays that came up beyond Dpx's control. If you want a date here you go sept 1 2057. Doesn't mean a damn thing cause shit happens. Hell the world may end tomorrow and a hest folder ain't going to change that. Enjoy what you have now and be patient for what's to come. Without RYP nobody would have a hest or the folder! If you don't like waiting cancel the order and buy some midol. The whining is getting old. I use this forum for learning, getting new products and some entertainment, but all this stupid crying is ridiculous and clutters up space that could be used in a better fashion.

I love knives, but I am relatively knew to blade forums. For the last 12 months I have learned a lot, mostly that I didn't know much about knives! I have since then purchased one custom made knife I love but unfortunately can't carry (in Korea). But have grown fond of DPX's style and its roots. I'm military enlisted still low on the totem pole, single income family, away from home and family (I'm sure many of you have been there, or are). Anyways I was so excited to get on the list of an LE that someone let go of (it's my Christmas and birthday present lol). I do as most people check this forum daily to see whats going on with the shipments because its exciting waiting for this knife. But as anyone that has dealt with the military I know that shit happens and you have to deal with it. I don't understand people getting so worked up over it. RYP and Tomson have been obviously filling us in on every step of the process, which is more than I'm used to. I guess my point is thanks RYP your getting a lot of flak I don't think you deserve and your being pretty cool headed about it.

Well said RYP, Like many others I will patiently continue to wait for my 2 LE's. They will get here when they get here. The solution is real simple. RYP has already said he would refund anyone's money that wishes to get it back. If you have an issue tying up a couple of hundred bucks, you probably should not be buying this knife anyway! Stop bitchin!:jerkit:

Well said. The complaining has gone beyond rediculious:jerkit:

Problem is that we get too much too quick these days. Instant ordering. Overnight shipping. Text messaging 500 times a day. Ten thousand channels on demand. You name it, and it seems easily at hand. The pace of life is just out of control. People seem to have lost the ability to enjoy anticipation. I'm waiting 16 months on a Dozier and when I do think about it, it just gives me something to look forward to. Some of these folks ought to order a Randall and savor the 5-year wait. Maybe they'd learn something from the experience.

I guess we can agree to disagree. To me when you say will ship in 2 weeks. And when 2 weeks goes by and they don't ship. Something happened, they did not ship! So we should be updated, that they did not ship and looking at what ever days or weeks. Very simple to me. Yes maybe we want to know what is going on to much, but that is the nature of the beast when it comes to BF. I feel communication is not as good as it can be. I passed on 2 LE's because it felt like there was not enough pics of what the finished product would look like or what the whole package looked like. As far I know there still has not be any pics posted of the afgan lanyard or the MR.DP tool holder! And the HEST LE tin was finally seen in the shot show pics.

The complaining about the complaining by the complainers about the complainers..... Nah never mind :p

I love the anticipation. I've thought about just not looking here anymore and just watching my post box. Running up to it every day, flipping the door open.... Nope, not today, well I BET it'll be tomorrow!

I've had custom knives done up, and even a hand built car. The car was 30k deposit to even start, and then I had to wait a year! I love this kind of stuff, because the maker is doing it for you!

Good luck to the whiners who ordered a LE... They know who you are.

:thumbdn: They tried to piss on this deal and tell us it was raining.

Well said, Mr. Guyon. Some on this forum still remember having to get up and walk across the room to change channels on the t.v. . . . .;)
( and Moose, don't even open your mouth . . :) )
Be safe.

Very well stated.. and so true. :o .. .. ;)

I think there is plenty of whining/bitching from both sides.

If someone asks a legitimate question to RYP or to DPX Gear as a whole (especially if it has anything to do with a shipping date), there seem to be 10 guys that jump in and tell him to quit whining/crying. That's just fanning the flames into a bitch-fest and its not really helpful.

By that same token a lot of the questions being asked are accompanied by a bunch of whining and bitching - which also isn't helping.

The rest of us just sit and watch the embarrassment while drudging through all the BS in the various threads to find enough info to see when/where the knives are coming in.

I'm expecting the knives to be Stateside within a week or two, and then shipped out to us after RYP has inspected/tightened them (which should take about another week or so).

I'm going to optimistically expect to see the knife around February 11th. If not, I'm sure there will be plenty of BS, bitching, whining, and crappy-comments to sift through that I'll have a new expected date.
