Sketchen Scales Customs

Beautiful work Steve.

Side note, I've been having the same email problem too ;)

Keep up the good work!

Just finished a couple zt0566 orders. Moonglow and coarse forest green G10.

Just requested that Steve make an ironwood burl scale for my Domino similar to this one. He responded to my email request right away and I'm looking forward to receiving this beauty:

You'll be very pleased with Steve's work. He made the grain dance in the ironwood.

Edit: slightly different angle...

Ha, no problem! Here's another one. Its oldie but goodie.

Edit: If you couldn't tell, I find this knife very photogenic. :)

Edit2: Getting rid of the lanyard hole totally improved the ascetics, IMHO.

It is incredibly photogenic! I decided to get rid of the lanyard hole as well and based on your photographic evidence I'm glad I did!

Played around with an Azso style pattern on some ctek. You can't really see it at all unless its lit up from the end but it adds some depth and grip.

Ha! That's my knife! It turned out great and I still love the work, Steve. Like I said if I need future scale work done I'll definitely be doing more business with you. It just so happens I may have something in mind later on this year. When I get the itch to drop some money I'll drop you a line if that's alright.

Does the aluminum in C-TEK produce sharp edges in the grip or is the material more like aluminum flake?

Thanks DB, let me know.

The ctek matrix seems to use a wire mesh like the regular honeycomb material. In the matrix its krinkled and layered haphazardly to give a different look, as far as I can tell.
No issues with sharp bits poking out in either. The aluminum is soft and almost as easily machined as the surrounding polymer, so the final surface is smooth.

I think I'm Steve's biggest fan. I'll get around to shooting some proper glamour shots of the gang at some point, but for now I thought I'd add a link here to a little album of some of Steve's work. A couple of examples:

Just got my Domino back from Steve and it exceeded my already high expectations. This crappy iPhone photo just doesn't do it justice and sadly I don't have the photographic skills of coiledwire and others on this thread. This desert ironwood burl is absolutely gorgeous. I'm already planning my next order... something textured and orangeish for my ZT 0551.

Thanks for the pictures Greg!

Glad to see your domino arrived Tasmaniac, and I'm glad to hear you're so happy with it. That ironwood burl is tricky to photograph. I forgot to take pictures of it before shipping, but I tweaked yours a bit to show more how it looks in person. Should be pretty close.
