Update on Beckerhead Sign-Up

Okay folks, I fixed the link to the Beckerhead sign-up. Next couple of days, I'll get to the new applicants. However, before I do, let me note the following:

There are some changes to how you need to apply for membership--namely the following:
  • You will need to REPLY TO THIS THREAD, and pending verification, your request for membership will be approved at a later time. Included in your post must be the three following items: (1) Evidence of your 25 posts in the Becker subforum by way of Advance Search (your username, Becker subforum) and a screenshot of the results (hint: numbers show up at the bottom of the page), (2) links to the 5 threads you have started in Becker, (3) a picture of the Becker knife/knives you own.
This design should help speed the process. By putting the onus on members to show, in full, the requirements have been met, moderators won't have to do tedious searching and checking up, and the verifications can come sooner.

I'm checking to see if we have anything resembling Post Areas (old platforum), but in the meantime, the Advance Search screenshot should suffice. If you don't know how to do an Advance Search, learn. If you don't know how to do a screenshot, Google it. If you don't know how to post a pic, consult Tech Support.

I quickly eyeballed current applicants, and the last two have some broken links where the Search screenshot would help. Below is an example of such a screenshot. Note I scrolled down so that numerical results are visible.

Hello all, I am Dr Rez and I would like to join the Beckerhead group. I’ve been a member since 2012 and lurker since 2010 here on Bladeforums. I typically do not post much as so many people here are experts in knifemaking and metallurgy that I simply come to learn and read what they have so say. I would however like to start becoming more active and perhaps share some of my knowledge to newer members like others did for me.

My love for Becker knives came like many others in that I purchased a leather stacked USMC KABAR. This was my first real quality fixed blade knife that I carried everywhere. The more I learned and used it the more I realized that while being a great knife it was not suited to my needs. I eventually saw KABAR made a line called Becker knives that looked much more appropriate for my uses. Flash up to recently where I finally received a Bk16 and am again starting fires and edcing with a big smile on my face. Better find the paint stripper and some files and get to work.

Below is a picture of my small Becker collection containing a Bk2, Bk11, and now the Bk16. The picture below that is just a shot of the cleaning and convexing of my prybar…I mean Bk2. It seems I am the first to apply for the Beckerheads since the forum reset so I will post my 75 post count, 25 subforum count, and 5 threads the best I can.

EDIT: I have reposted my application from April 17th in this new thread and changed the search links to screen shots of Becker and all posts. I think the searches were not working because of the forum update. Also I do not know if we are supposed to wauit on requesting a number or not anymore so if so I would humbly like to request #420 as it does not appear to be taken. If not...no worries. (I have brought over my previous application from the original thread, I have left the original intact here, though I have added the requested screenshot and ensured that I have working links to my started posts.)


Good afternoon all,

I am not sure if Beckerhead status is still something that can be achieved, but if it is still within the desperate grasp of lowly plebes such as myself, I figured I would use my 100th post in the Becker sub-forum to officially apply for said status. It was my fondness for Becker knives in general that brought me to the forums in the first place and I have not regretted it one bit. It has been a pleasure sharing our experiences and mutual interests here.

Based on my studious research, I do believe I have met all the requirements. However in regards to the additional criteria added by the most venerable Bladite, I will say this: Mars. Aliens. Railguns. Iphones. Do with that what you will. :D

Otherwise here it goes!

I have at least 75 posts in areas other than the Becker sub-forum and I have at least 25 posts here amongst the Beckerheads. As I usually try to not say anything unless I feel it is somewhat relevant (in my head anyway), I hope that my posts have contributed something positive.
