What blade steels won't throw sparks?

Anything that’s not a high carbon steel (such as 1095 as one example)will not throw sparks in the sense of using the spine paired with a pice of flint, chert, quartz, ect. If your talking about scraping sparks off a ferro rod, any knife with a good 90 degree spine should do just fine.
