I have a Buck 110 I purchased during my Freshman year in college, 1963-1964. I'm afraid I abused it somewhat as the blade is bowed to the right as I used it to open automatically-locking dorm-room doors for guys who forgot their key while taking a shower or whatever.
I have kept the knife as is for sentimental reasons and replaced it with a newer model. But, I was definitely using the knife during the Spring of 1964.
The thing is, looking through the various 'fact sheets' and other sources, my knife does not match up with those descriptions. I have included pictures below. I draw your attention to the tang stamp, lack of a horizontal stamp on the blade proper, the end cap steel spacer, the steel rocker rivet with a head on either side and the Blade/Butt rivets - you can see the rivet plainly on the reverse side but you can make out a faint imprint on the obverse side.
I have the black, thinner leather sheath but no longer have the packaging nor a memory of it.
If someone could provide me with an explanation as to how I ended up with the above displayed knife during the Spring of 1964, i would sure appreciate it.
Fwiw, I had written to Buck about the knife, initially to see if I could get it straightened, but then inquired as to when it may have been made. A nice lady at Buck referred me to their BUCKS DATE CODE CHART, but I didn't find that much help.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
