I have a Buck 110 I purchased during my Freshman year in college, 1963-1964. I'm afraid I abused it somewhat as the blade is bowed to the right as I used it to open automatically-locking dorm-room doors for guys who forgot their key while taking a shower or whatever.

I have kept the knife as is for sentimental reasons and replaced it with a newer model. But, I was definitely using the knife during the Spring of 1964.

The thing is, looking through the various 'fact sheets' and other sources, my knife does not match up with those descriptions. I have included pictures below. I draw your attention to the tang stamp, lack of a horizontal stamp on the blade proper, the end cap steel spacer, the steel rocker rivet with a head on either side and the Blade/Butt rivets - you can see the rivet plainly on the reverse side but you can make out a faint imprint on the obverse side.

I have the black, thinner leather sheath but no longer have the packaging nor a memory of it.

If someone could provide me with an explanation as to how I ended up with the above displayed knife during the Spring of 1964, i would sure appreciate it.

Fwiw, I had written to Buck about the knife, initially to see if I could get it straightened, but then inquired as to when it may have been made. A nice lady at Buck referred me to their BUCK’S DATE CODE CHART, but I didn't find that much help.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

It's just not possible that the knife is from 1964. There have been many stories on here where memories just don't match up with what actually happened. Maybe the knife was "replaced" at some point. 1972-74

I bot a 110 1966 to take to Vietnam stoutest pocket knife I ever owned. Last I knew it was in my bunker Hill 881S which took a direct rocket hit. Fortunately I was already medevac from earlier firefight 881N. Still miss that 110 though🖖🏻

My submissions, I own a regular production, a factory exclusive with amber stag scales from Copper & Clad as well as a custom with elk antler scales and nickel bolsters my wife gifted me for my 40th birthday.

These aluminum 110s are very tempting. What's going on around the handle pins?

I'm really liking the aluminum 110. This one is also with paperstone scales...
