s35vn was supposed to be easier on tooling for the makers while still keeping close enough of the attributes of s30v. s45vn was the next progression forward. brought better corrosion resistance. the article below covers most of the changes.....Is s45 and s30 that important to buck collectors? I don't see anyone framing this 113 and mounting it on a wall. Not that it isn't a nice or high quality, but to the average eye, it looks like a wood handled knife. My point is, these will most likely be used, or stored under the bed. What was the need for s45, that would require the price jump? When I am outdoors, I like a carbon knife, that is easy to clean and sharpen. I have never had to strike a flint with a knife, but I use knives on ferrous rods all the time. Even my most abused knives don't have rust on them. What is the need for s45 when you offer all your knives in s30 or better? Seems to me like high end steels are more for the fidget spinner crowd.
