Architect Knives.

That AK 8 looks freakin' awesome. And yeah, I think an Architect thread is warranted.

It is fantastic! Wish I would have pulled the trigger on a AK8, yours looks pretty sweet!
I haven’t had a chance to thrash on it yet. I’ve been giving my Gossmans a thorough workout. I’m going to put the AK8 to the test this weekend.

I just came across Architect while researching a 3-4" fixed edc. This brand looks interesting. Even so, after spec'ing out a 3.5 with micarta and sheath, the $225-250 price point is no different than other US fixed blades (White river, reiff, Survive, etc.). Nothing stands out that makes me want to choose Architect over the others.

I was interested in the AK3. I don't remember the original drop date but it had been pushed out to 5/1. Now I see that it has been pushed out again to 6/1.

BTW, does anyone know the blade thickness on the AK3?

It's listed at .093 inches here

which is something that "stands out" relative to other US fixed blades.

It's also a little odd that they've had 150+ bare blades listed in stock on that page for months, but keep pushing out the drop date for the builder.

Someone should try ordering the bare blade + scales (which have been available forever since they're ESEE) and see what happens

Thanks. I just saw that. Yeah, I'd consider that blade thickness ideal in a small EDC fixed blade. Honestly, I wish more EDC knives in general would go with thinner blades. While 0.125" is okay, just dropping to 0.10" can make a noticeable difference when slicing through materials. Any difference in strength is mostly irrelevant in an EDC context (and especially for folders).

They also just responded to my email. They have the blades but are behind on scales and sheaths.

Huh, weird that they said they're behind on scales, because TKC has compact ESEE 3 handles in stock and the page for the bare blade says the handle is profile compatible with ESEE 3. I wonder if they changed up the 3d contours of the scales a bit.

I don't understand the name- I've known a lot of architects and I think overall they would lean towards being anti-knife.
