Good Gosh! There's a ton of them, one of the first truly excellent movies that is must see that I saw was:
Stand by Me. (based on Steven King's The Body novella)

The Fugitve is my favorite all time. Shawshank Redemption second. Diehard series not bad either.
Crap, High Plains Drifter how could I forget. I have seen it 50 times and it seems better ever time.

OMG, I can't believe it! That's the second most boring movie with "Ishtar" being the _most_ boring.

Here's a plot synopsis, farmers growing beans or something, crisis, magic occurs, every lives happily ever after...
 
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was going to be a corny movie, but the feel of it, the comedy, the overall movie is great IMHO.

I just rented the modern version on DVD so my parents might have something to watch over at my place for father's day, and even my mom (who usually really likes musicals) HATED it! In fact, she left 1/2 way through!
