BK 17 who’s got ‘em?

While I was looking for my user BK17 that is MIA I came across this little gem. Smooth coat without the first production run markings, I don’t recall seeing any others but I know some of you have them squirreled away. Anyone still using BK 17 now that the 18 is out? I’ve got a NIB lazer etched one but I’m reluctant to use now that they are gone.

As the 17 is my go-to outdoor knife I have one user and one NIB as a backup.

I love the clip point and the saber grind, as well as the handle shape.


I just really love this blade

Thanks! Made that myself...when someday comes, I'll finish the blackout theme - I etched the logos, but thought I might leave this one with the coating on...might have to make some proper liners, too.

I’m sad they discontinued the 17. I would’ve love to pick up one of those. Great job!

Alway enjoy the pics of Wasty 's trips with his 17
And GeofS with the red dyed micarta look really amazing
But then I have so many on my wishlist
I'll use my still pretty new 16 and squeeze my eyes and pretend it to be a 17

I thought I posted this here - but you may have seen it in a different thread that I didn't realize I'd posted it in....

I already responded to someone as if I'd posted it here, but this is my only 17. Looking at some black micarta at work to make new scales...
...but I've already got too many projects on the pad, so - maybe dye.

There's a beautiful trio...especialmente el Quince up top - which you have pictured but neglected to mention. That point is ever so tasteful, skimming off a hair of the trail and kissing it with the barest of drops...how much shorter is it than the stock 15?

It's true, the only Tweener I've left stock is the 16 - and I have two.
That 15 has a straight spine. I think the way the top of the grind meets the spine makes it look slightly dropped. IIRC it's also de-waddled (better on a cutting board) and the scales are rattle-can'd. And everything stripped forward of the ricasso.

Whats up Beckerheads! Was digging around in some of the old knife boxes i stored few years back and found a 17 I thought I sold! Glad to have found it.

I have the same 17 still new in the box. I’m sure it’s in a giant unlabeled rubber maid bin. Amongst other giant unlabeled bins in the basement.
