My BPS friction folder finally arrived. It took 5 weeks, but still feels like a miracle. It's amazing that BPS could obtain the materials and manufacture the knife, and that the Ukrainian mail service could get it from there to my house halfway around the world. If you're ordering from the US, you should know that USPS had this marked as 'Signature Required'. I would have received it yesterday, if I had only heard the mailman.
The knife itself is very well made with a blade that's just shy of 3 inches and comes nicely sharpened. The scales are rougher than I expected, but it's not a negative. They provide a nice grip.
I didn't pay much attention to the sheath when I ordered it, but I'm glad it came with one. With the long tang and the ease with which it opens, it's not the kind of thing I would just throw into my pocket.
This will always be a special knife to me. One of the best parts about collecting knives (or anything, really), is the story that goes along with it. Without a story, it's just a knife.
