Camillus and Schrade of Old Given Short Shrift Now-A-Days

Bruce Old Hunter Old Hunter and Jeff Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund

As long as we're showing Schrade fixed blade knives, here's a 1982 - 1985 era Wolverine. The guy I bought it from said it sat in a desk drawer for 30-years. I knocked off the major grime but didn't want to overdo it. Surprisingly, the leather sheath is in great condition after having been in the dark for so long.

As it was when I received it.

On the subject of fixed blades, here's an array from small to large (with a couple folders tossed in).

Thanks for the treat of seeing those, Jeff!

Moving back to folders, because I cannot follow the last few posts…

Here’s one that took me a while to find, a 124 Serpentine Jack.

As of this weekend, it is fall in the NC mountains, and will be on the coast when I get home tomorrow night. Fall begins the good surf fishing and hunting season, been thinking about a venison chili for this coming week. As I wake it back up, I want to pay homage to this threads creator and patron, Modoc ED Modoc ED as I saw two favorite fall flavors of SPAM for his pantry. I think an adequate, stout blade to slice it would be in order. Happy Fall Ed! OH

Thanks Bruce Old Hunter Old Hunter . That Spam does look good and has prompted me to put a can of Spam on the stove - my signal to Cindy that that's what I'd like for lunch. Don't think you could have chosen a better slicer. The temps here have been dipping into the thirties for the last few weeks and the trees are turning colors.

The first can is wrong on so many levels.
Nice knife.

I’ve been looking for one of these 51OTs for a while, but it’s tough to find ‘em in good shape and not (in my opinion) overpriced. I didn’t have to pay too much for this one, and it’s in decent shape. Looks like it was probably carried a bit, maybe sharpened once or twice, but all in all pretty nice.

I hadn’t actually handled one in person before. It’s definitely a big, beefy knife. Here it is with a 5OT.

A person cannot go wrong, IMHO, having one of these on your belt.
It is heavy, solid, hand filing, takes a wicked edge and is capable of fine tasks as well as more brute force required tasks

Those were awesome work horses. I had one for several years. Like an idiot my younger self decided to do some mods on it. I honestly don’t know where it went. Last time I seen it was down stairs in my workshop probably 10+ years ago.
