Keep em safe and as comfortable tonight as you can. Scary time for the doggies. 4th of July, fun, food, and fireworks for us. As my dogs call it, HELL night 😮

My little fatty Kimber has well outgrown his Thundershirt. duramax duramax mentioned a Thundershirt for his guy. I put the Hi Viz safety vests on them. Got them snugged up, we’ll see if this helps them tonight 🤞

My fingers are crossed for you and the pups, hope it helps 🤞🙂🙂

Well it got crazy here , so Odin and I were hanging out under the dinning room table. Still all in all Odin handled tonight better than past 4hs.

I gave mine a Melatonin tablet about 9pm. So far, so good.

Hmmm, I didn’t know or even think about giving them Melatonin. That’s a great tip. I gave mine Melatonin after reading that. Starting to yawn now, plus they got cheese which is their favorite 🤤

Never even crossed my mind even though I take it. Thanks E & C, definitely going to try that tomorrow 👍🍻

Same here, I’ve got tablets, capsules, varying strengths so had what I needed on hand. Looked up recommended dosage for dog’s weights and verified it on multiple sites. Settled at about 1.5mg each of the tablet put in cheese, for their approx. weight ~25lbs ea. Definitely helped, relaxed Kimber who’s the spooked one.

Just a heads up regarding gummies- make sure nothing given to the dogs contains Xylitol, as it can make them very sick or even kill them.

You're welcome, guys.

I give him one 6 mg tablet. He weighs between 60 and 70 lbs. It can be repeated after six hours, but I never have.

I have read that it's important that you only give "Canine" versions of Melatonin as they will not have additives that may be dangerous to dogs.

FWIW, the version I use is available at Chewy and Amazon. But there are others as well. Check the dose size based upon dog's weight.

He made it through the night swimmingly. They recommend giving a dose an hour or two prior to event that may cause anxiety. (Also helps to regulate their sleep.)

My dog only tries to eat hornets.

Sigh...

My next door neighbor’s dog (Giant German Shepherd) used to go for the giant Bumblebees on all the flowers.

Would grab the bee off the flower, get stung, shake his head, then go for another, over and over again.

Was crazy and sad to watch that happen, but didn’t appear to have any side effects on him whatsoever.

Neighbor would only “tell” him to leave the bees alone 🙄
