This little guy kept me compny one day working on the patio.

Blue Sky ... If that caterpillar were here, I would think it is a very recently 'sprouted' offspring of the Luna Moth - huge caterpillar, huge moth.

Meanwhile - red squirrels, definitely not pets ... but tell them that while there is a free meal at hand. Mom weaning first one then all three babies to solid food. Fast learners all!

^^Luna moth? Thanks, I’ll have to look into that. I’ve always wondered what it could have been. Never seen another, before or since. That one hung around all afternoon, moved around a lot. I was sorry to see it go.

A moose walked into Providence Alaska Medical Center today and nibbled on some greenery in the lobby. We still have 2’ snow on the ground in town and just over 3’ at the cabin, so seeing squirrels out with ‘spring’ in nice.

Saw this bee hanging out for a while before it finally flew off, I think it was struggling with the sudden cold. It was 85°F a day or two ago, today it was around 40°F.

How about a large red tail hawk eating a squirrel....

Tracked this banana slug down on my first hike with my Siegle (look at that pristine blade ).

One of the few edible slugs - tastes just like banana - it was delicious!

Here’s the local herd in the backyard of my workplace. Had to play spotter with n the rain while a truck was being unloaded and in between pallets I spotted them

Last month I came across a few Elephant seals while looking for sharpening stones.

This one was peacefully sleeping:


This pup was way too thin so had probably lost mom:


So I called a local rescue group that I used to volunteer with, and they picked it up.
