Do you guys play video games?

RickHuf RickHuf , did you do the back and forth cheat for wing boots? I did every time. Would spend half an hour doing it and then selling them in town 🤣

Baldur's Gate 3 for PS5. Current playthrough is using a completely good aligned / heroic character (Wyll), as self-serving and evil, kind of a heel turn, in other words.

Anyway, this is one of the two games I keep coming back to from time to time. I don't know if I will actually show the other one. But I might. This other one I have been playing off and on for thirty years, and it is still fresh for me to this day thanks to an enduring modding community.

Decided to come clean on this and disclose what game I was referring to.

I've been killing lots of demons in Doom Eternal, it's quite satisfying 😁

Get the new one! The Dark Ages lol.

I don't like the direction Doom game design has gone after Doom 2. (IMO) Doom doesn't a story, and it doesn't need cutscenes, or glory kills. It just needs action. Here is the extent of my Dooming, with v. 21 of the Brutal Doom mod, fully customized by removing certain elements I don't want to see, adding multiple monsters from the old Realm 667 addon, and using a procedural level generator (Obsidian). I can generate an infinite number of levels, with as low or as high a difficulty as I want, of various sizes and architectures. I typically generate full of 32 "Tech" themed levels, varying the sliders each time for a new experience with each new set. Gets me my fast paced combat puzzle fix, with endless replayability.

I always play on the "Black Metal" difficulty setting where the monsters react, shoot, and move as fast as their code will let them. Last night I played this level for the first time, and in an unusual twist, managed to beat it on the first try. Happens from time to time, but not often. I don't buy shooters any more. The gameplay here is about as pure and streamlined as it gets, and the old school graphics, albeit hardware rendered through the GZDoom port, make the gore tolerable. I must be a sucker for punishment, because the levels I play typically are huge and can have anywhere from 150 to upwards of 400 monsters to face off against, including some that can randomly resurrect themselves (Roaches), some that resurrect other monsters (Archviles), and some that spawn endless minions until they are eliminated (Pain Elementals).

Literally over half an hour to beat a level. 🤣

And anyone who likes classic Doom should play through "MyHouse.wad" at least once. And by play through, I mean get to the real ending (i.e. the happy ending). It's a confusing and trippy experience if you go into it without looking at spoilers online. I highly recommend it.

I see you’re an OG Doom guy. I’ve never played any of the games but the trailers and gameplay look fun. TDA looks like it took rule of cool to another level.

I’m a Metal Gear and Resident Evil fan myself hehe. RE4 has fantastic action.
