As simple as it is, do you have any dealbreakers when it comes to buying a knife, and what are they?
Examples:
"No full tang"
"Double edge blade"
"Non stainless steel"
"Scandi grind"

For me it is:
1. No guard or finger choil
2. Mystery steels, especially "Surgical stainless steel"
3. Anything 440 or 420...
4. Really thin blade

I personally don't think I'm too picky, but I might be wrong, I'll only know after I hear from you :D

Off Centered • Half serrated blades • Recurve • 1/2 stops • Full Ti

Serrations
Tantos
Spyderco-thin blades, although my Boker Slack is ground very thin. I admit to rationalizing a bit, here.
The Spyderco thumb ramp bothers me, but thumb ramps in general are getting less appealing as time goes on.
Poorly-placed thumb studs. I don't fault manufacturers for this, because the population has such a wide variety of hand sizes.

Only 3.75” blade length or bigger
4.5oz or heavier
Any form of tanto blade
Tip down only

When someone insists on using PayPal F.F., I’ll pass on one every time. The other pass on no matter how much I want the knife is flippers that ask too much, but that’s just me. I do see some willing to pay the stupidly high price.

Coated blades
Recurve blades
Very thick blades
Mother of Pearl, stag, bone or similar scales
420, 440 ,AUS or VG steel
Tantos
Serrations
Chisel grinds
Poor craftsmanship

I can’t say any of these are truly deal breakers 100% of the time:

Assisted opening
Nail nicks
Metal scales
Combo edges
Overseas production
Alphabet steel
Poor heat treatment
Chisel grinds
Black finish on blades

Just most of the time.
I own(or have owned) at least one of each of the above. I am avoiding buying more.
