Horray!!! I just picked this beautiful knife up on Thursday. It was a deal that took about a month to come to completion. I had to wait till the seller came to my area to buy this knife.
I went away for the weekend and couldn't bring the knife with me. So I just got back home this afternoon and now I get to carry my new favorite knife. Man it's gorgeous!

Well worth the wait!!!

I'm starting to come around too . I think I bought my first one only because of the new blue color like you have there that I liked so much .
Recently I have started carrying one of mine regularly and I notice the blade lock doesn't EVER pinch my finger when opening like my many Para 2s do when I haven't carried one in a while . The Para 2 I have to pay attention how I hold it the first few times until muscle memory kicks in and no more pinch . The Para 3 is just no problem from the start .
and
the blade doesn't bump my finger right when it fully closes after releasing the blade lock . I don't mind the Para 2 blade bump really but I don't miss it in the Para 3 . And more tip control with the shorter knife .
Yes , I'm just starting to appreciate the Para 3 .
Oh
and did I mention my BBB 15V Para 3 is going to be delivered tomorrow morning ? !

I love the Maxamet too though no question there ! 😍
Yeah the Para 3 is around the right size for me to carry daily. Only time I need a larger knife is to cook. I have prepared full meals with this knife just to do it though.

I also have a 15v g10 Para 3 arriving tomorrow..... I bought a lightweight before but didn't enjoy it. Sold it and found one for a crazy price.

My oldest son and I spent several hours on this Micarta Memorial Day Monday driving up Cape and back to look at and buy a log splitter my wife had found on Craigslist. We've been trailering ours every year up and back to Vermont which is a real PIA and cuts down on our ability to render bolts into firewood to basically once per year up there. We've been looking for a few years for one to keep there, haven't liked what we've seen in the big box stores up there, or found something solid and affordable used that would be convenient to pick-up and transport. This one is in all but new condition and identical to our much-favored Craftsman 27 ton, also made by MTD, save for it being a 25 ton, also with a Briggs & Stratton engine, except at 6.5 HP instead of the 27's 6.75 B&S. We got a helluva deal at $700. Here's a seller's pic in his shed...

...and here it is packed into my F350. I really didn't want to tow it 40 miles home and it was easy to roll it up my loading ramps off the elevated shed floor. I took one of my side boxes off this morning as the splitter's fenders are just a little wide and high to fit between the two.

Back on topic, here's the large inlayed 21 which was also along for the ride.

WOW you guys are posting knives I've never seen before ; Hawk Lock etc.
I don't know , I would hate to give up the texture on the G 10 ; maybe get / make a thicker button/actuator . Maybe even from metal so it can have more durable edges on the texture . Part of me was thinking : go with the three pegs like on the thumb studs . Would tie it together visually . Might not be the best idea in use though .
Yeah, that's what I've always really wished they did, was have a bigger button. Maybe something that is inclined so that you're finger could get more purchase on it when pulling back. I went through my pics to find these both to show you and to see if changing the button would be possible. I don't know, I'd have to open it up again and see how the button it attached, but then I'd still have to have something machined.

I've always had the opinion that smooth knives are sweet as long as you can get a good grip on them. I've never been big on super textured G10 because it rips my jeans up, and never been big on jimping either because it's rarely comfortable to me. I think I'll probably just smooth it out, or get some wood overlays that have a depression where the button sits like another guy did on here that I've been envying for years. That and maybe I'll see if I can find a replacement spring of the same size and cut a coil or two off it to make it easier to move. It's probably fine for most people though.
