Sanremu 9103 is fantastic for the price.

No doubt they are cheap... Didn't spend much in the I+D department, did they???....

Gerber EAB lite for $11

Honestly, most days I would be able to get along just fine with this. I keep one to use as a money clip when I'm trying to minimize the stuff in my pockets at the beach/theme park/etc and don't need to carry a dedicated knife. It holds few bills, a credit card, and my ID really well.

I keep mine loaded with a blunt tip blade in case it opens in my pocket. Works just fine for my needs.

For me it's the Ka-Bar Dozier folding hunter:

I've had three over the years, and they've all been very well made in terms of the basics: well ground blades, centered, smooth, lock-solid lockup. And the design is perfect for a no-nonsense working knife. The AUS-8 steel is easy to take care of and easy to touch up. It's hard to ask for more with a sub-$20 knife.

traditional - case sodbuster
modern - either RAT1 or Bestech Lion

Byrd knives are my favorite for how cheap they are. Awesome edge holding too.

A bit more expensive, but worth it, Real Steel Sea Eagle and Spyderco Tenacious
