February BOTM

That Granadillo/Macacauba has me interested! I wonder if it’s P. Yucatanum or P. Pinnatum? I’m guessing probably P. Pinnatum if it’s coming from Taylor. I tend to like the figuring you get from Yucatanum but the reds that pop out with Pinnatum are nice too. It kind of reminds me of Cocobolo without the negatives that come with working with Cocobolo.

It’s a gorgeous knife... I just don’t know if I can justify it when I already have the S30V/black linen Micarta Buck of the Month 55.

And I think you will be seeing more of this wood if this is a result of partnership with Taylor guitars. That's nice stuff.

I'm tempted.
I like my 55's.:)
But I don't want to start collecting them...... ha

it's pretty obvious what wood will be on future BOM's.

You can get a free Buck 110 Hunter LT for free with the code GIFT110 with a purchase of $100 or more from Buck.

Now THAT sweetens the deal a bit!

Thank you for the reminder - unfortunately I forgot, in my excitement, to even try the Promo Code. That is a Great deal - beautiful looking Limited Edition knife (great steel upgrade also !) AND a free knife !

I bet if you were to give Buck a call, they might be able to help you out by adding it to the order.

I have two 55s and I’d really like a 501 s30v and thinking for just a bit less I’ll go that route. It is a very nice 55 kinda tempting but I’ll stick with my plans. Lol

I feel bad for the 503 Prince. Overlooked a second time for BOM in favor of the 55. Other places have a 503 drop point blade in a 55. No Respect! :p

I like the steel on this one  Nickel Silver bolsters  Interesting choice of wood (never heard of before)

It's a pretty cool wood! Dense and heavy and pretty easy to work. Lots of color variation and takes a great shine. I've purchased it under the name "Orange Agate".

Wood-Database has it ranked as their "#1 wood you've never heard of", which is actually what brought it to my attention in the first place.

And a little more info about it. It's good stuff.
