Found an 86” slab at Black Forest wood company in Calgary. Didn’t want to spend $900 so they agreed to cut and ship me 36”. I still haven’t swept the saw dust from my initial processing of almost half the slab. 🤣

Thank you sir! I actually have quite a bit and have access to more. I was gonna give you the info as to where to go but looks like your set for a while. Here's the story behind my last acquisition of bocote. Kind of a fun lil story:

I love that handle.

Thanks .....
Mesquite is more interesting, the closer you get to it. It's naturally a very stable wood, and very hard. In my climate it doesn't move all that much. This one isn't stabilized, just oiled with Watco Danish Oil. Barely.

People sleep on danish oil.

I find the smell comforting, warm, and welcoming.....as I'm starting to enter the old man stage of my life, I almost feel That's what old men Should smell like..... Haha.
Maybe, it's a sign that we are still getting work done, and are still useful

I've been fortunate to have several RMKs over the years. First one being a Mod 2 7" in about 1982/83. Also had a couple of Mod 1s and 14s. I did not have the means to buy and keep. I had to buy, enjoy, then sell to fund other purchases. I regret selling the RMKs. This is one of 2 I currently have (other being Mod 12 Smith). I've beat up the Mod 12 Smithsonian pretty good, but it is absolutely solid, sharp, fit for duty.
This Mod 12 Bear bowie I'm keeping unused (unless pressed into service). I think it is a very good and attractive knife.
Best regards and God bless.

I push my fingers into my EEEEEEYE'S.....

S**t, caught my thumb while cutting up some jalapeños! And got jalapeño juice in the cut! Right on the freaking kanuckle!

Im on my way to the E.R. for stitches... (not 😜).

All I could think about when it happened.

Picked up this one from a fairly local guy that he had leftover from Blade Show. The Griptec scales are interesting...I think very useful. Its a departure from wood or micarta for me, but I'm thrilled to have this one in the collection!

Cool song, but might not wanna do it with the juice on the fingers. I’d just goo super glue in that one.😅
