Is there any notible difference between Nathans 3V and Survives? I know they use the same HT but I noticed on the jimping of the 4.1 and 4.7 there looks to be a fair amount of rust. How is the FK fairing?
Nice collection of knives and great comparison shots!Representatives from the family unites for the holidays...

Funny that, because they claimed the peened finish was meant to add to better corrosion resistanceThank you! I think this is mostly related to surface finish. The S! Finish looks pretty, but I’ve had issues with rust spots forming quite easily. Something I’ve not had with CPK finish. I prefer the stonewashed (?) finish of the old GSO before the “peened” by a mile in terms of performance.
I’m also pretty close to the ocean and it’s quite rainy/humid here which might be slightly worse than average.
(Also it’s a pain to get rid of inside the jumping.)
Thank you very much for putting the field knives in hand to the tests all the rest of us want to. The BMF went to the right person and holdfully it will come out a winner, but in reality we all know how it will fair being it was made by a Evil Maker.Thank you! Does this mean you have the design pretty much dialed in to how you want it or do you anticipate any more (significant) tweaking?I have moved the balance point forward on the production fk2 compared to those prototypes
