Food & Traditional Knives

I had some Vietnamese Pho in Leeds Market yesterday 😋

Muskrat made quick work of deboning some chicken thighs.

Then H10 chopped up some other food scraps to all go in a stock pot with a bunch of chicken bones for some homemade stock.

That stock eventually became the base for some delicious ramen.

Although we stayed home for Labor Day on Monday, we decided to have a "picnic supper" consisting of potato salad, broccoli, and turkey hot dogs on buns with various condiments. My wife prefers her hot dogs to be charred black over an open fire, since she takes seriously the claim that humans are a carbon-based life form. I can't usually make them that way on our little tabletop gas grill, but Monday I made an oakwood fire in the bottom hemisphere of a small Weber Kettle (inherited from a nephew who recently upgraded his grilling situation). The fire turned out to be larger than I expected (but probably still close to legal in our city), and my wife was very pleased with the results. The only photo I have is the black dogs fresh from the fire:

I dare say sausages are better 'Burnt to a crisp' than 'Bloody as Hell' Gary! :D ;)

Good point, Jack! ;)
(But calling turkey hot dogs "sausages" may be putting them on a pedestal. o_O:rolleyes:)

Thanks for the Earth-friendly suggestion, Bob, but the hot dogs get consumed quite quickly in our house on the rare occasions when we have them. 🤓
