GrandPa's Opi. It has cut a lot of meat! I don't know what the rings do mean exactly. Maybe the months spent at the sanatorium.

Grandma used to say that when both extremities are protected you can go safely!Parapluie and Sabot.
This is a Puy Cevier (from the mountain's name), a navette made by the Vieilles Lames. Puy is the name given to the mountains in Central France, Cervier the old name for wolf (loup).nice Charlie! what is that top blonde one?
Knives are addictives too... Marcel Bozuffi and Fernando Rey, two wonderful actors!

The other French Connexion....
Fernando Rey's elegance of or Marcel Bozzuffi's strong temper ... I would love to have one of itOne of the few pictures of Achillepattada available to the general public.
All beautiful. Thanks, Â!Hello ,
I have to thank Les Vieilles Lames association for it helps . They use old parts to rebuilt knives like they were in the past. So it was the right place to find some historical french knives. It's a pitty to see that so few knife-makers use these shapes today .
Here you will find their names :
Only two are "modern" by their fabrication , the Aurillac by Pierre Yves Joyeux ( http://atelierlaclefdeschamps.fr/ ) and Le Puy Cervier by Les Vieilles Lames . This last one is a big navette . We have already talk about it : https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/french-regional-knives.1651680/page-15#post-19437323

The other French Connexion....
I believe it was in The French Conection 2 that Fernando was opening an oyster with an Opinel. A humble knife for a very rich dealer!
Thanks for the names, J-M!! I emailed you before I read this!Hello ,

JP, Is the cornflower a tribute to those fallen who protected France??@Charlie : I just added the cornflower, a brother in arms of your poppy.
It's a pity most of theses patterns are falling into oblivion, especially Gouttière (gutter) and Dungeon.
