Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's hot here, English hot, but still hot (getting up to 90f). Just about everyone uses Celsius here now, drives me mad, as I don't know what they are talking about! My new tower fan arrived in the week, and while I don't like the look of it, standing there in my living room, it is efficient. I'm going to be working most of the day, but I think I've got time to have a couple of hours round at Matt's after lunch ;) I would have actually liked another half hour in bed, but I got woken up by an ex girlfriend, who is ringing me far too frequently recently. She was blethering about how I need to take time for myself, etc, etc. I could have been asleep instead of listening to her, or 'taking some time for myself'! 😖 I'm slipping my Ebony '18 in my pocket today :) Hope you have a good one Guardians

Nice to see that Ebony beauty again ! Have a great day buddy 👍

Good morning Guardians !

I had a rude awakening around 1am this morning. Tornado sirens went off just before 1am . I checked my phone and there was a Tornado warning for my county and a take shelter warning. Cassie and I made it down to the basement and turned on the news. The warning was set to expire in a half hour. We ended up only getting strong winds and heavy rain but there were some tornado touch downs west of here. In all my years this is the first time I've been woken up by a Tornado siren. Thankfully I was able to get back to sleep.

Good news for you Steve. Great lamb as company.
Glad to hear it, Bob! I’m catching up after the wedding week madness. Son in law gave me a beautiful knife as a thank you gift. Not a 🐑 so I’ll post this pic instead:View attachment 2913728
I hope the day went well and all had a glorious time.🥂

I wonder how she knows.
LOL! When she says she wants me to take more time for myself, she means I should be working less, so I have more time pretending to listen to her rubbish! Woman once rang me, and stayed on the phone I fell asleep! 😴
I opened the windows because it's 63 outside, but it's 97% humidity, so maybe I've made a terrible mistake! It's 77 inside, though.

Yesterday I finally mowed the front lawn, though it wasn't legally necessary yet by a long shot (God bless clover). The kids across the street are having their Ice Cream Social tomorrow, and I don't want my yard to be an hissing and a reproach.
They've been here a while, because their elder child has been five and might be six or more by now, and the younger one is running around by herself. Not running around to bars and such, just independently locomoting around the yard. The elder one was born after they moved in.

I'll finish the back yard today, probably before church. It's going to be another stinker.
More rain is expected before the glorious Fourth, which I like to see before the fireworks.
Wouldn't want you getting caught with an illegal lawn Jer! :D

"You'd think all that rain would have cooled things off, but all it did is make the heat wet."
:D👍

Indeed not!
It's too hot to take a picture with the clippings I raked out from under my mower before church. Here's a pic with my latest riverine arrival. (I wonder if my other item is on a different truck or didn't make it off this truck.)

Three of the 1.5" superballs are going to be a back yard bolas. I'm pretty sure we don't have a law against those.
And it is awfully hot, and somebody here mentioned electrolytes.
[It's on a different truck: USPS, not the river.]

All the boxes were definitely checked on this one.

Thankfully you missed it.

Great looking piece of cutlery.
Enjoying some Georgia peaches.
They do look good. How long is their season for ????
I also discovered our home was built on property that was part of Augusta International Speedway. Closed in 1970.
Great piece of history.

Great piece of history.
Leon, they are tasty. The season goes from mid May to mid August. Parts of the 3 mile track are still running through the woods.
Pretty cool ! Love those Georgia peaches 😍
Makes moving interesting....new adventures.

I apologize for my absence from this thread. The few brief moments when I haven't been busy recently, I've been tired. So while I've found time to read and thumbs-up the Guardians (and maybe 3 other threads on the Porch), I just haven't had time or energy to post much.

Which is fine - by now I'm pretty sure you all know that I'm carrying the GL-24 all the time anyway. I started lurking on BF 10 years ago or so, became a member 5 years ago, and was originally just looking for the One Knife for me. Eric Albers' Polish elevator micarta lambsfoot (that's a lot of adjectives!) has gotten me closer to that than anything else I've owned.
