Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is OK, and that your week is going well. I had to go to a work-related film screening last night, and I am laid low today. I don't know if I picked up a virus or if it's food-poisoning, but the only thing I ate while I was out was a date 🤷‍♂️ Got Barrett's GL-24 in my pocket :) Have a good day Guardians

Crazy eh? Not as crazy as a documentary I watched about banking in Lebanon, where they stopped allowing people to withdraw money at all, and customers were having to go in, in groups, brandishing guns, to withdraw money from their own accounts!
I don't have anything cheerful to say to that.
if I picked up a virus or if it's food-poisoning,
Tomato juice is good against food poisoning, I've read recently.

I have a couple of extra days off this week, so I holidayishly made coffee with my Revere Ware percolator. Very good. I think Mom would have kept it warm on an asbestos pad (which I still have; it hasn't killed any of us yet) on the lowest burner. I'm using the Joy of Cooking's bain Marie ploy.

[Of course the JoC's bain Marie ploy would work on the Melitta carafe also.
So I don't need the narrow-throated filter cone that would fit on my Stanley Thermos. Which would make for a pretty tippy arrangement anyway, and I wouldn't be able to tell how much coffee I was making without frequent peeking, which could only make things tippier.]

[There- cancelled. Even though it went from $16.07 to $16.03 while I was considering it. Even though there were only half a dozen left in stock. Even though things can only get worse.]

[So I'll use up the whole beans on the Revere Ware percolator, then maybe try the Revere Ware with drip ground, and probably settle on the Melitta.]

Thanks fellers, I don't feel that rough, but I'm not going more than 5 yards from the bathroom

Very nice Dave :) I imagine you get TU on subscription, but I miss going into a great magazine shop, we just don't have them anymore here :(

Very interesting Jer, I don't recall the word 'cartomancy' being used in this thread before :D I've read that the earliest use of 'face card' is attributed to Joseph Mather, the Sheffield cutlers' favourite poet

Well done Tyson :) Cool pic

Thanks buddy, I hope you have fair weather for the market 👍
Thanks pal, the weather looks good, but work came knocking at 5.30am  I'm going to be busy the next few days, but hoping I get a chance to stop by the market.
