Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I had a rude awakening around 1am this morning. Tornado sirens went off just before 1am . I checked my phone and there was a Tornado warning for my county and a take shelter warning. Cassie and I made it down to the basement and turned on the news. The warning was set to expire in a half hour. We ended up only getting strong winds and heavy rain but there were some tornado touch downs west of here. In all my years this is the first time I've been woken up by a Tornado siren. Thankfully I was able to get back to sleep.

Yeah, that wasn’t much fun, was it? We had to get the girls out of bed and head down to the basement, as well.

Glad to hear it, Bob! I’m catching up after the wedding week madness. Son in law gave me a beautiful knife as a thank you gift. Not a 🐑 so I’ll post this pic instead:View attachment 2913728

That's awesome, Dave! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

These GL's are great. 40 boxes so far and still holding a good edge!

Always nice to see ‘em putting in some work! 😁

Just been watching an old replay of a show called Foyles War, for our American and other friends it is a British show about a detective in a seaside town during World War 2. Foyle the main character had to dig a bullet out of a wall after a shooting, he produced a pocket knife from his pocket to do such task, a Lambsfoot. Their popularity knows no bounds. ;)

Interesting! I’m always on the lookout for stuff to post over in the Traditional Knives in Movies thread, but for everything I’ve posted there over the years, I don’t think I’ve ever spotted a Lambsfoot in anything.

Crazy eh? Not as crazy as a documentary I watched about banking in Lebanon, where they stopped allowing people to withdraw money at all, and customers were having to go in, in groups, brandishing guns, to withdraw money from their own accounts!

For some reason this made me think of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. I was thinking maybe there was a run on the bank depicted in one of the segments that make up the film (it’s been a couple years since I’ve seen it), but I think it was just a regular old Wild West bank robbery. 🤠

We’re watching Back to the Future with the kids tonight, since it’s the 40th anniversary of its theatrical release. (This is always an easy one for me to remember, because it came out when I was 4 days old.) 😁

Love this knife Steve- What an Ol' Beauty!

I always like looking at my natural material handled Knives in the direct Sun, if it's Bone, Stag, Wood - it just makes everything pop out, the grain on these Handles Steve looks gorgeous in this light.

Thanks Matey !

Chalk it it up to a better safe than sorry experience 👍

Though I'm still on the Revere Ware percolator.

I just dropped everything to put the flag out, lest I forgot..

It's back to work for me today. It's cookout spirit day!

In my time off, I got my new glasses ordered: Progressives with the latest Transitions, in a plain black metal frame heavier than wire frames but lighter than the old fat plastic frames. I didn't see the Ducks unlimited aviators that had become habitual, but these are nicer anyway, with lenses as big, which was the point of aviators. Not that I wanted to look like Tom Cruise in the 1980s. (People think we're twins anyway.)😁
And cleared some more brush, and poisoned some more weeds, and mailed the insurance claim for the glasses, and spray-painted the face of the ancient glaring white monster gas meter that I noticed from across the street at the ice cream social.
And finished all the available One Step Beyonds. It looks like the lady at the bottom of the pool didn't survive. Some episodes show celluloid decay, and some were missing.
And I took a few naps.
And made a bit of a leap and bound with the Tai Chi.
