It is with great anxiety that I begin offering commissions.

I will preface that I have been engraving for a year. I took my first beginner class from Ray Cover in March '21.

I do scrolls in bold american in my own subtle style with my own particular flavor leaves in the mix. People portraits are not my favorite thing to do but I would engrave any animal from sharks to horses to dragons. 24k gold inlay. Pave diamond setting.

I've been working hard at improving and I think I'm ready to take on a few more projects.

Hit me up and let's talk about your next project!

Sent you an email!! Beautiful work!

I get your ambivalence Sarah. Still, my 2¢? It's cheap money. Keep adding to this thread as you have work to show - knives or other engravings - keep eyes on your extra special work. Maybe try to get to some blade shows too. If you don't set up a table, at the least bring a lap top or iPad with lots of images. Bigger formats are more eye catching - read - salable. If you disappear, you will disappear and that would be a loss to you and to us.

All the best, Ray

Something new.

I can't attach images anymore so I'm going to link with Imgur. I'm on the fence if I should buy into a membership again.

Either way you can post what you've done using imgur as long as you aren't asking for commission work or trying to sell anything. If you're trying to make any money from your work here I'm pretty sure you'd need a craftsman membership. If you've made more so far than the $75 that costs I'd say stick with it. As far as I know and I could be wrong- there are two custom engravers here and you and he do far different types of work.

You can still attach/embed the immage direct from imgur, even with a non paying membership.

A dealer membership may not financially pay off, if you are not making sales from here, but it does give exposure. So that is something to think about.

And tax deductible! Your work is truly amazing. I was scrolling through this thread and showed my wife some photos- truly incredible work.

The shield on this GEC knife is loose. I'm told it's pinned. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how I can secure it so that it doesn't shift and shiver while I'm trying to cut? It's making my work ... challenging.

I have tried super glue. That is, apparently, not the answer.

 It's loose isn't it? I'm hoping you will get other answers - maybe you could ask in the Maintenance & Tinkering sub-forum.
I would try slipping a fine tool under it and lifting it off - BUT - don't listen to me - ask these folks ^

It swivels but doesn't lift. I will try that.
