Not particularly. The average bread knife has no point, so it cannot be used to stab. It has wide serrations which make the knife ineffective for making slashing cuts. Of all the knives in the average kitchen, it would be the last choice for use as a weapon.

I feel the urge to move this thread to Whine and Cheese so that the funny responses can continue.
