I just got another 2 in the mail today. Going to give it to my sister tomorrow as a thank you for helping me with my daughters 1st birthday party. Going to mod the stock sheath for her first though. She is the first person in my family/friends that is getting a Becker. I have a few more people I am still working on.

Just picked this up in a trade---Italian Mountain Rucksack

Dyeing my one of my tweener sheaths and some other stuff...Anyone here dyed a Maxpedition pouch before? Found an old foliage pouch and wanna change it but not sure if the waterproofing coating will mess with the dyeing process.

I have a line on possibly getting a Becker Patrol Pack in black. I hope it pans through. I should know in a few hours.

BTW, Hi Cam. Sorry, I don't know about dyeing a pack that is coated. I would think if you get the dye heated up to almost boiling it wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Anyone ever sharpened with a dremel? The value pack of dremel attachments I bought includes some sharpening bits. Gonna try it out on my 16 as I have let the edge on that one go to s***

We'll have to see I guess, tried dyeing some stuff with dark brown RIT dye as I mentioned and it turned out purple! PURPLE! Haha...Wanna hold off on anything valuable or more pricey than a piece of canvas drop cloth.

Personally I wouldn't try it, Maybe if your edge is really bad then you could try and reprofile it that way but still...

It is pretty bad...

If theres visible chips and it'll take too long by hand then you can try...The dremel is, IMO, make to do alot of things decently but thats it...Decently, nothing great (Well, some things pretty good). I've never actually tried so I don't know. Maybe try a cheap blade first and if you get alright results?

Any one else notice how the becker group goes thru waves? For instance a few months back everyone was getting new jobs, then everyone was having more children, a few were going thru divorces, then everyone is dying! Kind of sad really, lately there has been so many threads about this type of HURT that its almost depressing to read thru some of the threads and replying is just as painful because what can you say to really help = nothing... We all are subject to this pain and any of us can be hit by it at any moment. And unfortunetly all of us will endure some type of this emotional pain if you live long enough. Be greatful when one lives to an old age, celebrate there life instead of mourning there death as much as possible and just pray your loved ones a fast passing.

Wifes grandfather passed away, Time to prepare for a funeral, leaving to New york 2moro. :(

Screw this RIT dye thing...$8 a bottle and instead of dark brown and dark green like it says I end up with dark purple and a greyish-blue. The hell? Luckily it was only canvas test patches and a small drawstring bag and not a sheath or a proper pouch. Wonder what I'm doing wrong?

You are on the wrong side of the equator. in order for the dye to work properly, you need to be in the northern hemisphere.
