Keep it Alive in 2025

I would think any agreement that if "leftovers" are involved that Buck could use those at their sole discretion would be my guess.

Have no idea though. 118 were made from the leftovers.

great. 😡 that means "no cpm154 replacement blades in the future, just a standard 420HC blades" should one of the BF 301's (or the copy) need a blade. 😡

An interjection of nostalgia - remember the BF knife of 2019?? A wonderful, burly rope style knife, dressed in hi-grade African Blackwood, a bomb shield, and lined bolsters!! A prepossessing single blade - One of the greats!! 😎 BF 19 1.jpg

Just my two pennies but this is arguably the best GEC knife of the catalog thus far. There, I said it 😄

Yeeerss i vaguely recall that one...mainly due to my overwhelming urge to go to Tasmania or the southernmost parts of New Zealands rocky coastline and hunt me some Elephant Seals.

The 2018 Buck run was egregious. Am I the only one who remembers?
Really? Not my experience at all and the price was a steal. Liked it so much I got two. The guy who organised it SK blades was extremely helpful, proactive and patient. I do recall certain members of the Rustaholic party moaning about stainless not being 'traditional' or some such received gibberish but that's nothing new 🤣

I remember a certain faction bellyaching because it wasn't worthy of being a Bladeforums annual knife because it wasn't made by GEC. Then when it was ordering time out came the gatekeepers who tried to keep these inferior knives out of the hands of the undeserving. Then when the knives started arriving we had a handful of experts harrumphing over every aspect of a $80 knife as if it was a $400 knife bought from a well respected flipper.

I remember that knife being a well received success by the vast majority of purchasers. Mine is a gem.

I guess we all remember differently.

I hope Buck does another one, I bought several of those Elk beauties and between them they were all very close in build quality. I gave one to my brother who has pretty much carried it everyday since then and I’d wager a lot that it’s the most used example out there, the quality can’t be understated in my opinion.

He’s a farmer, he carries spare change and .22 ammo in the same pocket as his knife and he uses a pull-thru style sharpener with ceramic wheels, I’m surprised it’s still in one piece to be honest!
