Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

I
Great Pruner, Brad!
Nicely detailed, and the proof is in the pruning!!
I am ever grateful to Ken myself, for making purpose built utility knives.
A lot of makers make showy/fancy knives, but real working tools is where it's at IMO!
Nice knife Ken!
Congrats Brad!!

Thank you Charlie. If I remember correctly you have a KE pruner as well. You are correct about tools. I have a number of Ken's knives and all are based around using examples and I do!!!

I'll second everyone else. What a cool knife with killer stag. Congrats on the award Ken and Brad!

Here is Ken's picture of it, Brad. I thought I had scanned it but cannot find my pics. I will do them again.

Goes without saying, but I love this knife!!

Brad, I'd like to add my congratulations on that fine presentation box and the wonderful Pruner. Absolute treasures!

Great to have this thread bumped.

Beautiful knife Brad,I do like the curvy blades, especially those by Ken.You are fortunate to have such a talented friend.

John Lloyd has accommodated many,he is the custom makers' philanthropist.

Charlie,I like Ken's fancy one's too, they could still be useful to royalty.

Ken and Brad: That may be the best use of a good piece of stag I have ever seen. It takes a lot of talent to use stag correctly as the selection, cutting, grinding, sanding and coloring can make or break a piece very quickly. Ask me how I know............!

Beautiful pruner, Brad!

Also, not many folks are able to pattern knives like Ken.

Amazing pruner Brad, that stag is incredible!!!

Thank you for all the wonderful comments folks. Getting a knife from Ken is always fulfilling.

Thanks again John L!

I failed to mention earlier but the photos are all from Ken. Another skill this multi-talented craftsman is starting to get the hang of:)

Brad No surprise it won an award, real 'victor ludorum' Ken is so fortunate to have such wonderful skill and judgement in making knives, always impressive to look at his work but also humbling in a way.

Just don't go dropping that in a thicket :eek: it aint no visible yellow delrin:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

Thanks Will. Your assessments are always appreciated.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgBrad, like all the rest said, that pruner by Ken is amazing. I always love Ken's coining on his knives. I have only two of Ken's. I bought this one straight from Ken, on the forums. I was lucky enough to beat everyone else out, and was the lucky buyer of this in MOP.

The quality of Ken's knives are only exceeded by the quality and character of the man himself (in my humble and perhaps not unbiased opinion, of course).

Here's a good shot to show off that special ebony Brad. Thank you so much

Good shot of that ebony and yes, it is some of the best you will ever find. Again, thanks to John L.

Brad and Charlie, those pruners are superb.

Good looking pearl!

Wonderful knives gents :)

Yep Ken's coining is pretty spiffy....

Ken's coining is superb indeed. Maybe he will chime in at some point on that topic. There is much more to it than I ever knew.

Elliott I first got interested in Ken's work because of you. Some of my very best pieces come from Ken. I thank you for that sir!

Every now and again I still do something right. Very happy to have served as a bridge between you.
