Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

Ken, these single spring, catch-bit knives you have been making are all as superb as it gets. I really like this type of pattern: slim, powerful Master blade and 2 blades are all that is ever really needed in a pocket knife.
I wish there was an available one !
Congratulations. You make World Class knives.

I wouldn't have the blues if I had that knife!

Old George Schrade is smilin' down on you!

I could only hope he would approve of my approach to knife making but thank you for that comment Charlie.

Thanks guys for the comments on this knife. A very challenging knife to build from a tolerance standpoint. When Schrade built theirs they were not concerned about blades touching as long as they passed fine(which they do!). In a handmade like this there has to be "light all the way around" . As some of you guys noticed my master blade is fuller and almost a 1/4 inch longer than the Schrade version. Because of this the lines of the knife closed are a bit different. The spine of the master sits even with the master of the Schrade however at the point of the swedge there is more blade. I took this picture this morning to show the difference. I laid the Schrade over mine. One thing to note is that the master on mine , when closed, covers the run-up of the secondary.

Thanks again for the comments on this one, very much appreciated!

Me neither, Charlie, me neither. (And I hear that some lucky fella north of the border should know. ;))

Great knife, Ken, as we've already discussed. It's always a pleasure to see you put your touch on a pattern.

Another beautiful knife, a perfect modern interpretation and another ideal EDC - thanks, Ken!

Elliott had first dibs on this knife, but kindly let it come to me, due (I think) to its connection to my Schrade. I am ever grateful to you, Blues! And to you Ken, for the monumental effort to make it as good as it can be!
Thank you gentlemen.

Charlie it was my pleasure to pass my opportunity over to you. After all, you provided the knife which inspired Ken to make this beauty. It only seemed fitting and Ken totally understood my thought process.

Enjoy it in good health.

Wanted to share a few pic's of a knife Ken is making for me, It's an old Remington (R153)
It's a great old knife and it's one my Grandfather like to carry!

I already know that will be an extra special knife for you Jason. I remember the Remington from Blade and you saying it was a favorite carry of yours.

Ken, That flat sided cattle knife is amazing. What a job getting those two blades in there with the joints down so low too.

Thanks for the comments! Gus, Thanks! It's one that means a lot
to me for sure! It's just a good old knife....
