Ken Erickson large sportsman's knife Sheffield inspired

I just had to ask...will the owner use to open wine, hold a cigar and cut some sausage and cheese? :) I hope so.

Weekend project? Seriously, that's some mad skills you've got there, Ken. Thanks for sharing your work with us. :)

My head just exploded!

The fact that you used checkered ebony is just icing on the cake!!!

That looks like a crazy amount of work. The scissors are my favorite component. Having made a few simple slippies I can somewhat appreciate the amount of effort required to make that all work together:thumbup:

Darcy:)
I'm with Darcy. I just came in from sweeping the shop (all I can do until my VFD comes home) and I was playing with the parts to a basic sodbuster I'm working on. I can't imagine the time and mental and physical skill that took. That sir, is why I love handmade knives. From nothing, to something more, to something even more, to a knife, all from nothing more than the sheer will and mind of man.

I also agree with T, the checkered ebony just made a great knife even more mind blowing.

Now that's an amazing knife right there Ken Erikson !
I love the old Horseman's & Sportsman's knives, and the VIctorinox Swiss army knives, which are kind of boring compared to these old multi-tool knives, and Ken's knife !
I just recently discovered how so many guys are customizing the Victorinox SAK knives.
I was happy just to figure out how to add some nice Sambar scales to my favorite old Executive (74mm) knife !
Love that Ken Erikson knife !

Yes it's beautiful....

airmojo airmojo K Ken has not been on the forum in almost three years, and this thread is 7 years old.

Old news. No reason the bring it up. We refrain on this reposting, UNLESS there is current new info.

Sorry. Welcome.

No reason the bring it up.
I for one am happy that this thread popped up again, if for no other reason than wallowing in nostalgia!! Going back to post number one, and seeing and remembering what a great talent Ken has for knifemaking is a welcome "rocking chair on the Porch" adventure!! 😋
I sure miss Ken's productions of Traditional masterpieces!!
