All right, I'm so glad this is back!!!

I just took my first ever "knife in tree" pics, especially for this thread, last weekend.

That knife is really interesting Stingray! I like it...

Maybe this is off-topic, but I used to stab trees frequently when I was practicing my sentry removal technique. I would use the hand over the mouth kidney stab method so I would practice an underhand stab. When you stab something as hard as a tree trunk it really is tough on your grip. If you can hold onto your knife when you do that you don't have to worry about anything you might hit while doing the real thing.

kgd, what kind of hat is in the second pic?

Waxed cotton - brand Australian Outback - Style #8135 (Don't remember the model name but that is what the little tag in the hat says). Hope that helps! Its a good looking, kick'n round town hat. A bit sweaty in the summer.

I try to resist sticking knives into live trees, but once it falls or dies... Fair game!

Ok... THIS one is still living. But, since my neighbors stapled a "no trespassing" sign to it... :D

Despite having done this for years through Boy Scouts, hiking, and general goofing off, this is the only picture I have of one of my blades in a tree:

HD- What is that knife in the blurry pic on the first page, the one where the cat is sniffing it in front of a pot on a fire?

Here's a couple of mine.
