Yeah - brass and copper are eye candies But they're soft af. I've been switching to titanium or just flaming ss hardware to bronze color.New hardware day. Had one of the brass screws break instantly! My kid told me I should alternate brass and silver on the show side and it’s killing my ocd. She thought it looked good so I left it that way. Brass must be some pretty soft stuff because I was being really careful. The copper went on fine. I sent an email to Hinderer to see if I can buy just one screw

These look good. Which size shall I buy for XM-18 3.5" and Eklipse 3.5"? The website does not specify it.This. Even the SS screws are quite soft and Allen heads don’t help. Many of my XM now have TiConnector screws instead.

I’ve taken several Eklipses apart with regular T6 bits, and never stripped a body screwCould anyone please confirm that T6 torx PLUS bit (instead of the regular T6 torx) should be used on the Eklipse 3.5" handle screws? It feels the regular T6 is too loose while T7 definitely is too large for these screws, and I don't have T6 torx plus bit. I've been using Wiha bits so the quality should not be in question. Thanks.

Have you thought of emailing The Ranch to see what they say?
Yeah, good bits are worth it. I used to mess around with some of those Kershaw torx set and similar kits from Walmart and when I got my first whia driver and never used those cheap ones again. They fit much more snug, so they are less likely to damage the hardware IMOThey did reply and confirm it's T6. Guess I just need to be more patient by fully and firmly inserting the bit before turning it and also not tightening the screws too much. Also, maybe it's time to buy some new torx bits (especially T6 and T8, which are used more often).
So, I put a titanium scale on my Jurassic and was pleasantly surprised at the change (improvement) in the closing action. Out of the box, the Jurassic's action was great, but after the scale change the action has a much smoother, glassy feel. Very noticeable on the close! I don't remember noticing any difference with my XM-18 and Eklipse when I changed out their G-10 scales. I'm no Hinderer expert and wondered if anyone else has a similar experience?View attachment 2868955
