Wow, that’s gorgeous! I love that color on the stitching too and how it goes perfectly with the scales. Great choice SH and fantastic work once again Chad 👍❤️🍻

The recliner and my new UF sheath got in a fight. The recliner won by TKO, drawing attention to a rookie sheath maker’s design flaw. The stitching held but leather did not. Fortunately, the belt loop is removable. Back to the drawing board…….IMG_4973.jpegIMG_4972.jpeg

Yessir, I’ll be moving the upper stitching down and leaving a smidge more material at that stress point. Might throw some kydex in there for reinforcement, as well. 👍🏼
I shot you a text with some thoughts🙂👍
You could also move the stitch line up. Close the belt loop area a bit, that should take some of twist pressure away. But either way I know you’ll work it out 👍👍

Well, at $1200, this bad boy is by far the most expensive sheath I’ve ever bought ! What can I say, it’s a classic GROG. 🤷🏻 Those who know….know.View attachment 2438805

Mad props to Standard78 Standard78 and DrBC DrBC for working with me on this. I appreciate you, fellas.
Haha, you got hosed on that deal!
I’m glad you’re liking Grog’s handiwork and it seems like DrBC is stoked on the Behemoth!

🤣 Oops ! Did I screw up the decimal point again ? I thought $ 12.00 was a pretty decent price. 😉

Seriously man, it was a great deal for all concerned. Thank you ! Have an amazing New Year.

So was the leather just too thin? You'd add kydex under the entire leather loop, not sandwiched between, is that correct?
Asking because I'm trying to make some of my own sheaths, but I'm not very far into it. I move super slow.

It’s been suggested that I may have grooved the stitch path too deep. I had been hand grooving both sides to recess the thread. I’m finishing another belt loop attachment today and will only groove one side and moved the stitching down so as to allow more give before break. Time will tell how it works out.
