Let's see your GEC #23's, 73's, 83's and 72's

Got this from Half/Stop Half/Stop last week . 735109LHL . For those who do not know . The LHL stands for Left Hand Lock . I am a real fan of the 73's and this is a beautiful example of how well GEC finishes bone and I really like the jigging on this too . Thank you Half/Stop Ron .

Harry

Harry you are so very welcome my friend! Pam and I truly enjoyed meeting and getting to know you and Nancy! :)

Yes, the law is blade length tip to bolster. The 73's bolster is shorter making the blade 1/8 longer than the 74.
Even stranger, one can get a permit to carry a gun concealed but it still does not allow one to carry a blade (concealed) longer than 3''.o_O:confused: Gun yes, 3 1/8" blade no!!! :)

Thanks for that info James. Even handling both I thought the 74 was longer. Maybe it's the profile of the blades and maybe it was me just assuming (that word) the 74 was longer because of the specs.

73 and 23 announced in the let's talk gec thread.

ETA: H23 and H73, so they are the fixed blades.

IMHO one of the nicest 73's they have made. The Smooth Ivory Bone and Exotic Mexican Bocote with the Corset Shield are just special knives. :)
Ron, you and I are once again of the same opinion. :)
73s are great, especially single blades with lock, even better when wrapped in smooth bone or bocote. The corset shield is icing on an already sweet cake. :D

Have a great weekend my friend.

Alan it's hard to beat a 73 Scout Single blade in any of the many available configurations! Nice quartet you have performing there!

I don't have a 23, but of the others, the 72 is still my fav. The one with the spear point looks so wonky and unbalanced but it's a really good slicer. I mean, I guess they all are, but something about that blade shape appeals to me even though it looks disproportionate to the handle. The li'l 83's not bad. Don't care for the 73 and this one will have a new home soon. :)

Top to bottom: 73, 72, 72, 72, 83.

Thanks Ron.

I guess that's why they make so many similar patterns. The 83 is a wonderful knife. I have a magnificent elk 72 that's just a drop larger than I like. And, the 73 seems to fall just about right. Don't you think that green liner lock would look good with the others? hahaha!

I was hoping to find a pic of someone's 23 Bull Lock in yellow. I'm hoping to get my hands on any 23 Bull Lock someday but I lust after a yellow one.

Loving all of the 72's and 83's in this thread!!! Now i got a hankering for one, Stag with a clip....I had to post in the WTB forum to see if I could catch one! Would love to grab one before hunting season, seems like it would be a great companion on long hunts.
