Looks like a fixed blade! So long as we're discussing longish more or less kitchen knives... This one is not old at all and not currently in the kitchen, but still goes here I hope.

Dang Kmart was really putting in the work! I would have picked one of those up with no second thoughts, still probably would hahaMy latest addition just arrived, a Scarce Kmart model 1000s made by Ichiro Hattori in Seki japan.

This knife is beautifully made, absolutely the sharpest factory edge I've ever experienced.
It has no box but beyond that it's absolutely in brand new condition for now, I don't abuse my knives or use them harshly but I'll definitely be using this beauty.
It's hard to believe they were putting this much effort into a knife made under private label contract for Kmart, but these weren't exactly bargain priced knives either.
Even the sheath is pretty darn nice.
Kmarts are pretty rare these days... their knives must be near impossible to fine.

This variant is scarce, but Kmart also sold this model 1000s under their SHARP brand which is far more common and less expensive.Kmarts are pretty rare these days... their knives must be near impossible to fine.
That's awesome. The profile isn't so different from this BBQ slicer I have in progress.I am liking this thread. Here is an odd duck- looks like it could have been seized by a crusader in the 1300s from an infidel, but it is actually made for releasing succulent slices of (mutton? lol....wait.... beef) from a joint, at table. I tried to give this to Duncan but he made the sign of the cross and stepped aside.View attachment 1920795View attachment 1920796View attachment 1920797View attachment 1920798
If you're ever looking to let anything go let me know.I wonder where that sway-backed paring knife is that I found in the kitchen garden of the old house when I was a kid.
That's an Olsen on top.
I will.If you're ever looking to let anything go let me know.

Really interesting knife JerThis Dixon of Hungary is being admired again in the Parisian Hungarian thread.
Here it is some more.
Gorgeous, clean lines on this one. I bet the balance is superb, too.Dennis Riley J SView attachment 1925356View attachment 1925355
My friend I only did so as you are so very generous and I could not accept that stunning Knife as a gift, I do collect these however as I think they are pretty darned cool ....I am liking this thread.
