Me again!
I dug put my old GRs. The new clip point isn't as much longer in the blade than the regular one as I'd thought.
Having ground off the handle curves decades ago so I could slide on the guard, I think I'll inlet the tang into a new handle that's curved and a little longer.
The old Dadley has a clunky handle because I wanted to enclose the whole tang (also decades ago). I think I'll be happy with it when I've flattened the forward swell on three sides and rounded off the butt.

The new ones are a lot thicker than the regulars.

You'll be able to do some batoning Jer!
