Let's see your Scout/Camp knives

Robeson, all blades solid as the day it left the factory :)

Wow, who make this knife- its a beauty! How do you like it? Thanks
Hubertus is the brand and they were recently purchased by Otter-Messer. It really is a striking knife. And as I have mentioned in another post. An auto, lever-lock camp knife is a definite conversation piece. It's not something you bring to a boyscout campout.

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to research that one a bit more. Looks fascinating... at least to a scout/camper knife fan!

Still toting this one on the Rollator.
Most used "blade" is the can opener, when (not "if") the staffette needs a can of something opened for lunch and/or supper.

I do ask (politely) they give my share of "beets" and "carrots" (or that contains "carrots"; E.G.: "Peas and Carrots") to someone who like those nasty, gross, disgusting, inedible things. 😁👍

Scouts BSA - a program for boys and girls that emphasizes family camping. The primary official method of Boy Scouting , the Patrol method, where boys experience Scouting primarily in a small-group, boy-led context, was de facto abandoned decades ago in favor of a school-like adult-led troop method.

Never thought I'd outlive "Boy Scouts." :(
Meh.
I tried scouting for a little while, but the time I spent outdoors with my father was a far better learning experience honestly. By the time I started high school I had no problem backpacking 2 or 3 days on the Appalachian trail, or canoe-camping 2 or 3 days down the Potomac, unsupervised, with just a friend or two along. Keep in mind these were in the days before cell phones. My dad would drop us off, and pick us up at a prearranged meeting spot that he trusted us to find on our own. I knew how to shoot and fish and canoe and sail and all kinds of stuff. The only thing we didn’t do was hunt.

We’re talking about the late 1970’s and early 1980s here, and no, the world was not a safer place back then.

Probably the wrong thread to bring that up in, sorry.

This Keen Kutter arrived moments ago. Like my other one with the extra long awl/spike, it's not your typical scout configuration. The heavy duty file/screwdriver blade sits on a dedicated backspring, as does the long pull spear. The can opener and cap lifter/screwdriver/Prestolite key share a backspring. Not overly heavy, despite the 3 backsprings and heavy file blade.

Also note the salesman's numbers on the back of the spear.
