M-43

I recently bought a m43 (first kukri) here on the deal of the day. Anxiously awaiting it! After seeing that some people love the handle and a few others not so much due to slipping. My question for those of you that have experience with the m43s is how do you like the handle?
LOVE the handle. my favorite. doesn't give me crazy blisters like the rest.

The Tamang has one of the least dropped blades of HI's kukris. In fact, I think that's why Yangdu always calls it a Tamang Knife instead of a Tamang Kukri. It also tends to be closer to one ounce per inch of length.

The Tamang has a sharper edge profile. Leaner, thinner blade. Probably like the thinner KLVUK's. M-43's thicker, more heavy duty. Like WW2's, AK's. Joeraz's pictures explains it perfectly.

The Tamang can be utilized much like a weapon, and the M43 more as a chopper.

I'll disagree a bit and say that the Tamang is more easily used in the conventional manner as a weapon, but that's just because I've put some time and effort into learning the peculiarities and demands of other kukris as weapons. Still need to finish writing my book on that. Haven't worked on it in ages.

View attachment 754055 View attachment 754057 I've read a lot about M-43's and their weights and wanted to post these 3 I've got.
1st is made by Anil and weighs in at 32.65 oz
2nd is Kumar and weighs
27.05oz
And 3rd is also Kumar and weighs 27.40oz
I truly love the 2 lighter weights. Much faster moving!
Just wanted to share. Photos aren't too good.
They are all 18+"
Wow the M43 triumvirate! I call them Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, the Holy Trinity in Hindu mythology!

I have 3 M-43s. This is by far my favorite Kukhuri. Mine 3 are 15" Kumar blades. They hold a great edge and chop well. I would get another, if I could find one in 15" and around 20-22 oz.
