That looks like what happened to me with my baby ganga. Look back about 8 months. The only thing wrong with that blade was that it was sharpened too thin, using a long, flat swedish grind. I put a bunch of serrations into that blade cutting a hard, brittle shrub. Here's the link
Steve Ferguson resharpened my khukuri with a rounded bevel, axe-like grind, and it works great now. Sarki's making a new sheath for it.
Hopefully Steve will sign on and make his diagnosis, but it sure looks like the pictures I posted last summer.
In other words, there might be nothing seriously wrong here. It just needs a wider bevel on the edge to do its job properly.
